In 2009, finding BJD's on the internet, I fell in love with their beauty. There are so many stunning creations. Similar in some ways to reborning. The dolls can be bought completed, or they are able to be painted by yourself, or you can send your doll to your chosen artist for the faceup you request. Their clothing is wide and varied. One doll may be bought as a "FullSet" which includes the clothing, shoes, wig, eyes. Or you can purchse just the doll and then choose your own clothing, wig and eyes etc. There is nothing like the chance for your own inspiration and creativity to take flight.
How could I not look further into these amazing creations ???

I am going through updating my BJD's with photo's of them today. This is them all my current girls and boys together (28th July 2010).

And in order of when they arrived.

Tatiana has moved on to a new home now but Tanya still lives with me. Her style has changed a lot over the months since she arrived and she is constantly changing her outfit and her chosen wig. She just looks great in so many different styles.

Another one who has changed but that is the fun part of these BJD's. You can change and change again as you desire.

Rebekah (Dream of Doll - Shall). 60cm. Arrived Feb 1st, 2010.

Rebekah with blonde hair and with brown hair. Her style has hardly changed since her arrival. But her size makes it hard to find the right fitting clothing. So far, she has only this dress and one white dress so usually remains in this black outfit. It shows her beauty so well.

Petsha is just about to leave Australia to go live with a new BJD family.

This teeny little Sprite has her own pair of wings and is the little caretaker of the froggies ;-)

Faceup and Body Blushing by Me.

Wow what a story this girl has behind her now. She is an Iplehouse Jessica with faceup and body blushing by me.
I decided to sell her but in the process of removing the paint for the buyer, she ended up with major irreversable damage caused by the acetone stripper. In the end after attempting many different options, the only thing left was to give her a new complete covering to return her to some amount of "display ability". So now she has been completely sprayed with a skin coloured spraypaint meant for Miniatures and it thankfully seems to have worked. Plus it has taught me a worthwile lesson

.... let someone else remove the faceups in future !! ;-)

The camera flash has it looking as though she is darker coloured on her face but IRL, she isn't. She has body blushing which also isn't showing up in these photo's.

For someone on Den of Angels (A BJD chat group), I needed to take a photo of one of my LittleFee dolls wearing the smaller PukiFee Pukisha ears and tail. This little girl looked so cute in her attempt to help out someone else with photo's that she is still wearing them today. She needs me to paint them one day but for now, she is dressed up as a little kitty ;-)
